Dehradun

Dehradun is the winter capital city of Uttrakhand also called the abode of Drona. The city is located in the doon valley in the foothills of the Himalayas and is connected with the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. The city stands at a height of 640 meters above sea level and acts as the gateway to the famous hill station of Mussoorie and also to the pilgrimage spots of Haridwar and Rishikesh. Kedarnath

The Hindu holy town in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand is very famous as it is one of the four dominant Char Dham pilgrimage sites.  It is also among the Chota Dham site. The Hindu town is at an elevation of 3,300 meters above sea level on the banks of river Alaknanda. The town gets its name because of the Badrinath temple. The climate of Badrinath is humid throughout the year. The Badrinath temple is extremely important for the Hindus devoted.
